Administrative Assistant/Receptionist at Immigration Law Firm (Bilingual English/Spanish)
Bean, Lloyd, Mukherji, & Taylor, LLP, a highly regarded and collegial immigration law firm in Oakland seeks a full-time administrative assistant/receptionist. We are a small firm and our practice emphasizes removal defense, family-based immigration, naturalization, waivers, and U Visas.
Although employees are given a lot of independence, we are a highly supportive and collaborative office. Due to the high stress of the work itself, we care greatly about the mental health of our staff and want to avoid burnout. While we are a busy, fast-paced office, we encourage strong work-life balance.
Responsibilities and Duties
Duties are primarily communicating with clients and potential clients, screening and scheduling consultations, translation/interpretation, filing, and general office administrative tasks. The receptionist must be comfortable communicating with clients by phone, video, email, and text, as well as in person, and must be comfortable learning and employing new and varied technology (i.e., Excel, Adobe Pro, LawPay, RingCentral, and more).
Qualifications and Skills
Experience in immigration law is a big plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Because most of our clients are monolingual Spanish speakers, fluency in Spanish and ability to write well in both Spanish and English are required.
Salary is based on skill and experience, with a range of $24-$31/hour and the potential for performance-based bonuses.
The position offers generous benefits including, three weeks’ paid vacation plus all federal holidays, 10 sick days, fully paid health insurance, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and a 401(k) with employer match.
Because our current administrative assistant/receptionist is changing roles within the firm, we are flexible on a start date, but hope to have a start no later than May 2023.
Candidates should submit a resume, three references, and a short formal writing sample in Spanish to managing partners, Jesse Lloyd at [email protected] and Anita Mukherji at [email protected].
