Oakland Immigration Law Attorneys

The firm of Bean + Lloyd LLP in Oakland, California, focuses on immigration matters. In particular, we have earned a reputation for assertive representation and results in the areas of deportation and removals, as well as other complex and challenging immigration cases.

We frequently accept cases on an attorney referral basis from other immigrations firms. As a leader among West Coast law firms in removal cases and other immigration matters, a referring attorney can be assured that the referral client will be the beneficiary of passionate advocacy and representation.

A Milestone Asylum Case

In one such case, our firm convinced the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse a ruling. In Boer-Sedano v. Gonzales , the court ruled that the Immigration Court erred in ordering the deportation of a gay Mexican national to his home country. Mr. Boer-Sedano had been repeatedly sexually and physically abused by a Mexican policeman and fled to the U.S. Our firm successfully argued that Mr. Boer-Sedano would be subject to further abuse and persecution if he were to be forced to return to Mexico.

The San Francisco Chronicle detailed the abuse the client suffered and the court’s ruling in an August 13, 2005, article.

The Recorder discusses the strength of the firm’s reputation within the immigration lawyer community in its December 31, 2002, article.
